TEMPERAMENT IMPROVED

The young Indian opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan, has said that he has improved his temperament significantly in the last 12 months or so and that’s the main reason behind his consistency off late.

Dhawan has played some great innings for India this year and has established himself as a regular member of the team in all formats of the game.

He was answering the questions of the reporters in an event in Delhi. When he was asked about the secret behind his success in the last 12 months, Dhawan told Unibet “I was technically quite good a few years back as well, but, the thing which I was lacking is maturity. But, in the last 12 months, I have worked hard on the mental aspects of my game and now, I am much better temperamentally.”

India has to go on a lot of foreign tours in the upcoming season. When asked about that, Dhawan said, “I think we have got the potential to do well overseas. We have recently won a couple of big tournaments abroad and we are a confident unit at the moment.”

When asked about his time in South Africa where he had gone with the Indian A team recently, Dhawan said, “I enjoyed batting there. The pitches had a bit of bounce, but, I adjusted well.”

“I have now got a good idea of the conditions in South Africa and hopefully, that will help me when I go there with the national team.”

Dhawan is being approached by quite a few big companies these days after his brilliant performances in international cricket off late. When asked about that, the 27 years old left hander gave a mischievous answer. He said, “When you play good cricket, you get these opportunities and I am looking to grab them with both hands.”
